Worship in the Sanctuary:
When you arrive for Sunday worship, you’ll be greeted by one of our ushers, offered a Bulletin, and show to the sanctuary. Our Sanctuary is traditional yet warm, inviting, and filled with light. It offers us an immediate sense of peace and joy. Our service is printed in the Bulletin but our worship is informal. Children of all ages are welcome in worship. There are tables set up in the Sanctuary, a room off the Narthex with a changing table and a place for families to sit with children, and our nursery is available for children under 5. People leave their seats to light a candle in prayer or to greet a friend. We enjoy a wide variety of music. The Sermon is based on the day’s Scripture and invites us into spiritual practices that draw us closer to the love, joy, peace, and justice of Jesus Christ.
Please come as you are! Masks are currently optional.
A time of fellowship follows each service in the back of the Sanctuary.
First Presbyterian Church of St. Louis is located at 7200 Delmar Blvd. in University City, at the intersection of Delmar and Midland just west of the Loop. The entrance to the Parking Lot is on Delmar at Midland and includes several disabled spaces. Parking is also available on the street in front of the church, which is Overhill Drive. See a map here.
Disabled access:
From the disabled parking spots on the back lot, you may access the ramp into the lower level of the building. An elevator will take you to the main level, where the Sanctuary is located.

A Note From Our Pastor:
Welcome to the website of First Presbyterian Church!
We hope this website provides a little taste of how God’s Spirit is alive among us. If you’re looking for a church, you may be looking for vibrant worship; a new sense of community, church family, and friends; education and music programs for yourself or your children; or opportunities for service or to work for justice. Or you may simply be looking for what Jesus calls “rest for your soul” in the midst of what can be a hectic world. I think you can find all of these things at First Pres. I know my family and I have.
I suspect, deep down, what many are really looking for when they search for a church family is to simply find some happiness in life for themselves and their loved ones. I have often said, “If your religion does not offer you happiness, get a new religion!” This is why Jesus said, “Happy are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (or right relationships).” Most of all, what we seek to do at First Presbyterian Church is to follow Jesus in Peace, Love, and deep Joy. Some of the ways we follow Jesus include gathering for worship and fellowship, sharing our resources, caring for unhoused people in our Sanctuary and on the streets, regularly collecting food for the hungry, advocating for the rights of LGBTQI people, marching in Pride Parades, repairing our neighbors’ homes, supporting education and well-being in Nicaragua, holding weekly vigils for Black Lives, supporting our local schools, and more. All are welcome at First Presbyterian (we really mean all!), and we would love to have you join us!
If you have any questions about our church community please send me an email at bill@firstpres-stl.org.
