Join a team or ministry.
Here are the teams that need your time and talent:
DEACONS (Team Leader: Amber Geiger)
Help determine which community partnerships First Pres selects and align mission giving
with them. Participate in a variety of member care activities that best serves your availability
– examples include driving members to appointments, taking a meal to a member who’s had
surgery or baby, host fellowship after church, and so much more.
MARKETING AND VISIBILITY TEAM (Team Leader: Lance Burditt)
Develop and implement strategies to best market First Pres, both internally and externally.
Oversee the First Pres communication vehicles – website, e-News, signage, social media,
weekly bulletin, etc.
MEMBER AND VISITOR ENGAGEMENT TEAM (Team Leader: Jan Rogers)
Welcome and encourage members and visitors to attend worship services and become
involved in organized Small Groups, which are formed around the areas of Service and
Mission, Fellowship, and Education. Plan activities that support visitor engagement.
Examples may include new member classes, coffee with visitors, or new member dinners.
Keep Pastor apprised of new visitors and their needs. This team includes those who also
serve as church Greeters.
OPERATIONS TEAM (Team Leaders: Joe George and Sue Salvati)
Oversee all aspects of human resources, including employee management, compensation
and benefits, recruiting, training and development, and job evaluations. Oversee the budget,
finances and endowment investment, church policies and procedures, church space rentals,
and liability insurance. Manage the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the church’s physical
building, property, and grounds.
SPIRITUAL PRACTICE AND EDUCATION TEAM (Team Leaders: Jodie Burditt and Bill Perman)
Oversee the spiritual life and practice of the church through corporate worship. Plan all
activities associated with Adult Education, Children’s Sunday School, Lent and Advent
programs, Fall Church Retreat, and Vacation Bible School. Work directly with the Pastor and
Music Ministry to help plan and execute weekly and special worship services.
