Sunday August 20 following worship services, join a small group viewing of an inspiring short film with discussion afterwards. Stranger at the Gate is a 2022 Academy Award nominated short documentary. In it, an Afghan refugee named Bibi Bahrami – and the members of her little Indiana mosque – come face to face with a U.S. Marine who has secret plans to bomb their community center. But Mac McKinney’s plan takes an unexpected turn. Malala Yousafzai, executive producer, says, “I hope the film challenges every viewer to question their assumptions and show kindness to everyone they meet.”
The film is 30 minutes and we’ll discuss it and our responses to it afterwards. Contact Dan Reus at (314) 496-3457 with any questions. Bring a snack and/or a beverage and join us!
